The Review
Firstly, let's address the obvious... IT'S MADE OF PAPER!
Well, the outer body is at least. It claims to be 99% "plastic free", with the mouthpiece and bottom being made of recyclable rubber. But that's as far as it gets, kinda. The guts of this vape are almost identical to every other disposable vape on the market, plastic sponge filled tank, sensor, wires and battery. Which, yes, are technically all recyclable, but to recycle this thing properly would involve tearing it to pieces and recycling each part separately.
Lets get to the vape itself. The paper body and rubber mouth pieces are definitely different, and it feels like it's made out of paper, although cardboard might be a better description. The paper body surprisingly weighs more than an aluminium one of the same size so it's slightly heavier than similar vapes. I also found even when not actively using the vape, I'd keep it in my mouth just to chew on the rubber mouth piece (which held up surprisingly well).
The flavour was actually kinda 'meh'. I don't exactly have any complaints with the flavour, but I don't have anything good to say about it either. Yes, it has flavour. And yes, it's nice. But it just wasn't quite strong enough to be satisfying, and it didn't give much of a hit at the back of the throat.
Inhale was an issue though, the air intake is a little tiny hole in the bottom rubber cap. It was restrictive and tight and not easy to draw through, but it kinda gets worse - I don't know exactly what the rubber is that they used for the mouthpiece and the bottom, but they seem to attract fluff, dirt and debris. Putting this device into your pocket (even in a clean, freshly laundered pair of pants) for a while, you will find fluff sticking to the rubber bits. Which finds its way to the air intake hole and blocks it even further, making the inhale even worse at least until you clean it.
Puff counts also left quite a bit to be desired. It claims to be a 800 puff, but I only got just over 400 out of it. So a bit of a disappointment there, especially as a standard Elfbar gets the same.
