VAPEMIXR Score Explained
The VAPEMIXR SCORE is a scoring system I use to help me review the devices I use.
Every device is rated out of 10 in 6 categories, the scores are then added together to give a total score out of 60. The higher the total score, the better the vape is.
it is important to note that all of these scores are highly subjective and are given by myself based on my own personal use of the device, and your opinions may differ.
Category 1 - Flavour
In this category, I look at several things around the flavour.
First, I look at how much flavour is in each inhale - is the flavour full bodied, or is it muted?
Second, how close is the flavour to the advertised flavour? For example, if the vape is 'watermelon ice', does it taste like it? How does it compare to other vapes of the same flavour?
Third, does the flavour change during use? Does it start strong and fade away, or disappear completely?
Category 2 - Inhale
Exactly what it sounds like. How easy is it to inhale through the device? Is it a smooth, easy drag, or is it tight and restrictive? I also look at how hard you have to inhale to fire the device (on non button fire devices).
A 0 is given if the inhale is extremely difficult and a 10 is given if the inhale is 'perfect'.
Category 3 - Design
This covers a couple of things. For devices that need some assembly, is it easy and intuitive to put together? How good is the build quality? How easy is the device to use? How practical is the design? But most importantly - does it look good and feel good in the hand?
Category 4 - Duration
The duration is how many puffs I get out of the device in direct comparison to how many puffs are advertised on the box. These are usually estimations on my part, but on some occasions I do keep an accurate count. A 0 will only be given if the device is not working out of the box or in other specific circumstances (these will be detailed in the review). A 10 will only be given if the device meets or exceeds the advertised puff count. I try to keep this one less subjective, and base the score on the actual usage. For example, if a device advertised 10,000 puffs but I only got 5000, it would score a 5.
Category 5 - Hit
The 'hit' is the feeling at the back of your throat when you use a vape, or in simple terms, how satisfying each puff is. Is it smooth or harsh? Does it hit the spot or leave you wanting more? I also consider cloud production within this score.
Category 6 - Enjoyability
This score is probably the most subjective score category and is entirely personal. It is how much I enjoyed using the device, right from the unboxing to the vape being completely used.
